Chocolate & gingerbread porridge with hazelnuts and orange

Delicious, healthy and aromatic inspiration for quick breakfast. Gingerbread, orange, nuts- can you taste Christmas aready? Don't wait for December though with making this amazing porridge- each day is special and uniqe, so start it with proper and delicious food 🙂

Makes 8-10 servings


Ingredients
  • 300 grams regular oats
  • 100 grams hazelnuts, skin off
  • 100 grams dates
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 medium orange, zested
  • 5-6 gingerbread cookies
  • coconut water
  • plain yoghurt
  • fruits
Instructions
  1. Soak dates in a hot water for about 30 minutes- 1 hour. Drain.


    Put hazelnuts on a dry pan and fry them until golden and crunchy.


    In a blender put 200grams of regular oats. Add drained dates, nuts, cocoa gingerbreads and orange zest. Blend everything until you get a wet sand consistency.


    Add the rest of oats and mix eveything with a spoon.


    To prepare a bowl of porridge place 60-70 grams of this mixture in a pot. Cover it with coconut water (you can replace it with water or favourite milk) and cook for a several minutes until you get a desired consistency.


    Serve hot with a natural yoghurt and favourite fruits.


    Remaining mixture keep in a hermetic jar.
