Apple & Lemon Verbena Margarita

Apple & Lemon Verbena Margarita

Not much talking today as we are celebrating a very special occasion- our wedding anniversary.

To make this evening even more festive I've prepared a delicious drink, taking inspiration from classic Margarita drink.

Apart from tequila and lemon juice I've added natural apple and lemon verbena juice from Wiatrowy Sad. If you can't find it you can successfully exchange it to regular, good-quality apple juice.

Cheers to us and to you Guys!!

Makes 2 servings:
  • 120 ml tequila
  • 60 ml apple & lemon verbena juice
  • 40 ml lemon juice
  • 30 ml sugar syrup
  • ice cubes
  • lemon verbena leaves
  • salt for glass decoration
  1. Start with rimming Margarita glass. Cut a lime or lemon wedge and moisten the rim of the glass with it. Then dip the glass in a fine salt. Set the glasses aside.

Pour the tequila, apple juice, lemon juice, and sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker.

Add a handful of ice cubes and lemon verbena leaves (optionally) and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.

    Strain into a Margarita glass.

Add a lemon verbena leaf as a garnish.

    Serve immediately.

Recipe Notes

Sugar syrup (also called simple syrup) is an essential item in your home bar or kitchen. You will find it in many mixed drinks and  it can be used for your coffee, tea, and homemade sodas as well.

It is very easy to make and it requires only two ingredients. It can be stored in refrigerator in a well-sealed bottle for two to three months.

To make it you will need equal part of sugar and water.

Pour the water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil.

Dissolve the sugar in the boiling water, stirring constantly.

Once the sugar is dissolved completely, reduce the heat, cover, and allow to simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.

Remove the pan from the heat.

Allow to cool completely and thicken, then bottle.

Note: Do not allow the syrup to boil for too long or the syrup will be too thick once it cools.
