Christmas gingerbread & orange liqueur

Sweet and thick Christmas liqueur with aromatic flavours typical for this time of year. It is just delicious, perfect for a long winter evenings. Ready to be enjoyed right after preparing.

Makes about 750 ml

  • 500 ml heavy cream (30%-36% fat)
  • 300 ml white vodka
  • 100 grams bitter chocolate
  • 0,5 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1/4-1/2 cup orange juice
  • orange peel from 1/2 of orange, without white part
  • 1 tbsp gingerbread spice mix
  • 1/2 tsp dry ginger
  1. Pour 100-150ml of cream to the pot. Add chopped chocolate.

    Put in on a low heat and stir until the chocolate melts completely.

    Add the rest of the cream stirring continuously. Add cinnamon stick and orange peel.

    In a separate bowl mix sugar with gingerbread spice mix and dry ginger.

    Add the dry ingredients to the cream and melted chocolate and stir until dissolve completely.

    Remove the pot from a heat and cool.

    Add vodka and stir quite rapidly. When vodka is stirred in, add orange juice.

    Mix all together until you reach a smooth consistency.

    Pour the liqueur into a bottle.

    Keep it in a cool place but not in the fridge. Use within 3-4 weeks.
